Referring Physicians

Welcome to the Section of Vascular Surgery at the University of Michigan Health System. As colleagues in care, our interest is to support optimal treatment for individuals you refer to us for consultation as well as those that become our mutual patients. For questions, or to refer a patient, please call us at (888) 287-1082.

In order to provide a comprehensive evaluation of your patient we ask that you or your staff forward any pertinent medical records on to us. These records may include:

  • Cardiac and Vascular testing reports
  • Operative Notes
  • X-ray reports
  • EKG

About Our Care & Services

Our surgeons perform all aspects of vascular care including a full range of open surgical and minimally invasive interventions. We also have expertise in coagulation and risk factor modifications. We work jointly with a multidisciplinary team, including Cardiologists, Radiologists and specialists in the management of hypertension and other cardiovascular risk factors.

As well as the usual clinical evaluation and surgical treatment options, we operate a noninvasive Diagnostic Vascular Ultrasound unit. Our technicians perform a full range of duplex ultrasonography for the diagnosis of carotid occlusive and venous thromboembolic disease, and doppler waveform analysis for the evaluation of arterial insufficiency. To order a study, please contact us at (888) 287-1082.

We host several annual conferences including visiting lectureships dedicated to a specific topic, and referring physician conferences that highlight various aspects of vascular disease. To learn more, please visit our Educational Programs page.
