T32 Training Opportunity

The University of Michigan Medical Center, Section of Vascular Surgery, announces the availability of a training position for postdoctoral candidates who are MDs in Vascular Biology through a NIH T32 Training Grant "Vascular Surgery: Research Training in Vascular Biology". A position is open to those MDs who have an interest in vascular biology. This position includes both didactic teaching and laboratory investigation. Basic and translational research is available. A highly developed didactic curriculum has been developed for the trainee designed to address key issues in research design, statistical methods, writing and speaking skills, as well as grant writing capability. There is one opening for 2008 for a one-year appointment with a second year anticipated.

If interested, we require a curriculum vitae, at least two letters of recommendation, and a narrative description of the applicant's long-term career objectives and short-term goals to be accomplished during the training period. Additionally, a detailed 5-page description of the proposed research project will eventually be required once a mentor is chosen.
