Dr. Wakefield is an honors graduate of the University of Toledo and received his MD from the Medical College of Ohio in 1978. He completed his general surgery residency, has completed a vascular surgery fellowship, and is presently Professor of Surgery in the Section of Vascular Surgery, Department of Surgery. He presently is board-certified in general vascular surgery, general surgery, and surgical critical care, and is also the director of the noninvasive vascular laboratory. His clinical interests include all of Vascular Surgery with a special emphasis on venous disease and coagulation issues. He enjoys his family, is an avid basketball player, a runner, and a true sports fan.
