Guoan Chen, M.D., Ph.D.
Research Investigator, Section of Thoracic Surgery
ResearchDr. Chen's research interests focus in the fields of genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics to identify transcriptional profiles and protein profiles that relate to patient survival and diagnosis in lung adenocarcinomas. In his current studies, he sought to determine whether humoral immune response profiles may be useful for either cancer detection or prognosis in lung adenocarcinomas and esophageal cancers. A T7 phage display peptide library was constructed using cDNA from pooled cancer tissues. Tumor-related epitopes were selected through biopanning using serum from cancer patients. An 1129 element phage-displayed peptide microarray was constructed and screened for the epitomic profiling of humoral immune response in a large cohort of patient sera including cancer and controls. Candidate epitomic humoral immune response targets will be identified by DNA sequencing. |
