Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating due to increased activity of the sympathetic nervous system. This condition usually effects the hands and feet, and to a lesser extent the axilla and face. At present the best results are obtained with those patients with palmar or axillary Hyperhidrosis. The treatment involves removal or ablation of the sympathetic chain. This operation is performed thoracoscopically via 3 mm ports bilaterally as an outpatient. We have performed over 150 of these procedures.
