Esophageal - Cancer

Our goal is to return our patients to the care of their referring physician/primary care physician as soon as possible.

For a patient who has undergone an esophagectomy (removal of the esophagus) for cancer, this is normally within 1-2 months of the operation.

After this, we recommend a routine health maintenance physical examination and a chest x-ray according to the following schedule:

• every 4 months for one year, then
• every 6 months for two years, then
• annually thereafter
