 About the Education OfficeThe Surgery Education Office provides information regarding the University of Michigan's physician training programs in general, pediatric, integrated plastic, integrated vascular, and fellowships in congenital heart, thoracic, vascular and surgical critical care. We also serve as a resource to medical students on the surgery core clerkship or surgical electives, as well as providing support for all house officers in the above mentioned training programs. The office is centrally located on the 2nd level of the Taubman Center. MissionOur mission is to ensure excellence in the educational programs sponsored by the Department of Surgery. The Education Office is a Department-wide resource designed to provide administrative support to the director of the medical student core clerkship and all residency program directors within the Department. We are committed to the development and implementation of a departmental infrastructure for evaluation of resident and student academic performance and faculty teaching, and for monitoring and documentation of other training program requirements identified by the ACGME as essentials of the residency training programs.
