Choosing the Right Restraint Worksheet
The right restraint system for a particular child is determined not by
age, but by height and weight.
- Infants up to 20 pounds and under 1 year = a rear-facing car seat in the vehicle's back seat.
- Toddlers from 1-4 years and 20-40 pounds = a forward-facing 5-point harness safety seat.
- Children 40-80 pounds and under 4'9" tall = a belt-positioning booster seat.
- Kids over 80 pounds and taller than 4'9" = adult seat belts.
Use this worksheet to
determine the best safety system for your children.
