Mission Statement

The mission of the Plastic Surgery Section at the University of Michigan Medical Center is an ongoing commitment of providing our patients with the highest quality of patient care. This commitment is accomplished by our enduring efforts to excel in the areas of education, research, and patient care.

Education, research, and patient care combined are the keystone to our Section. Each as equally important as the next these are the factors that help define who we are.

Education and research have always been and will continue to be an area where great attention is placed. Each resident is a part of six year integrated program which presents a broad experience with a proficient background in both clinical practice and research. With this knowledge in hand, each plastic surgeon is equipped with the competence and understanding to best serve each patient.

The commitment to patient care is not only shared by all the physicians. In order to be successful, these basic principles are also carried through and implemented by the collective efforts of our entire faculty and support staff. These are the values and ideals we are continually guided by here at the University of Michigan.
