Plastic Surgery at the University of Michigan not only has a rich history, but also a leadership role in the future of the specialty. Our faculty have made significant advancements in the application of clinical practices through the development of outcomes research in the areas of breast reconstruction and hand surgery. We are also a recognized leader in the management of congenital craniofacial anomalies, tissue expansion and reconstructive techniques. Our expertise extends to wound care management and the surgical treatment of pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, and neuropathic foot ulcers. Continuing to make advancements in the total rejuvenation of patients, our teams combine cosmetic surgery with ancillary procedures including laser resurfacing, skin peels, and liposuction.
