Injuries from trauma are the leading cause of death and disability in children.

C. S. Mott Children's Hospital, designated a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons, provides the necessary resources to care for the most seriously injured pediatric patients, from pre-hospital care through rehabilitation.

And to continue to improve care, our faculty conduct medical research to advance the understanding of pediatric trauma and to develop new, innovative treatments. We also provide a vast array of outreach programs to teach children and their families about safety.
