Cabrini Sutherland, M.D.

Cabrini Sutherland is a Clinical Lecturer in the Section of Pediatric Surgery. She received her medical degree from Ross University and general surgery training at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. She completed her clinical research at Seattle Children’s Hospital and graduated with a master’s degree in epidemiology at the University of Washington, School of Public Health. She has recently finished a fellowship in the Surgical Critical Care with a focus in pediatric and neonatal critical care, at the University of Michigan.
Her research interests are in improving surgical health related outcomes in pediatric patients through standardization of care. Currently her research focuses on evaluating best methods of practice in common pediatric general surgery procedures. She also has interests in quality improvement in critically ill children requiring ECMO.
