Provider Consultation Procedures

The Hospital Dentistry clinic is happy to provide Outpatient Consultation and dental care for those patients who need dental care in a hospital setting. Please call our front desk at 734 936 5950 for information about scheduling and faxing a consultation. The following information is provided to assist in making a referral:

1. Referral by a physician does not mean coverage of dental services by medical insurance. Medicare coverage, for example, does not include dentures, fillings, etc.
2. Replacement of teeth by bridges or dentures, etc., requires mutliple appointments over a period of time. If your patient lives far away, please advise them of this and consider care with a dentist in private practice closer to their home.
3. Please refer medically stable (ASA I or II) patients to the School of Dentistry.
4. Referring physicians with additional questions should contact a Dentistry attending by visiting the paging website.
