Thoracic Surgery Rotation

Training in thoracic surgery is provided through rotations during the third and fourth years. As a PGY-3, residents rotate on the thoracic surgery service at the University Hospital, assisting faculty in the operating room, and caring for patients in the clinic and the inpatient unit. As PGY-4 trainees, residents rotate for 1 month at Foote Hospital in Jackson, Michigan to gain experience in general thoracic surgery in a private hospital setting.
