Welcome to the Division of Colorectal Surgery at the University of Michigan.
Our surgeons have been trained in Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship programs. We diagnose benign and malignant conditions of the small bowel, colon, rectum and anus and treat using both open and laparoscopic surgical techniques.
Patients referred for diagnosis and/or treatment will benefit from the expertise of a skilled and caring multidisciplinary team including enterostomal therapists, nurses, nutritionists, physical therapists, physician assistants, social workers, and allied health professionals. Patients will have access to all of the resources available at our facility including consultation with gastroenterologists, gynecologists, urologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and other disciplines as warranted. We are part of the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Michigan Bowel Control Program.
We receive referrals from across the state and country as well as internationally. We believe it is imperative to partner with physicians in each patient's local community to provide comprehensive and ongoing care. Our service goals include providing patient education, timely and comprehensive evaluation of patients, communicating with referring providers, and, most importantly, providing expert individualized patient care.
