Tara M. Breslin, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Surgical Oncology, Section of General Surgery. Dr. Breslin received her undergraduate degree in 1988 from the University of Illinois and went on to receive her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX in 1992. Dr. Breslin completed her General Surgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine followed by a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Prior to assuming her current position at the University of Michigan, Dr. Breslin served as Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin with a full-time commitment to research and clinical practice devoted to breast disease. In 2004, Dr. Breslin earned a master's of science degree in Population Health Studies from the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Breslin's clinical interest is breast cancer and care for patients with breast problems. She focuses on state of the art breast care diagnostics and advanced surgical techniques, including sentinel lymph node mapping, breast conservation and skin sparing mastectomy. Her research interests are in quality of care and surgical outcomes of breast cancer care. Active society memberships include: American College of Surgeons; Society of Surgical Oncology; American Society of Clinical Oncology; American Society of Breast Surgeons; Central Surgical Association, Association for Academic Surgery. |
