Samantha Hendren, MD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor in the University of Michigan Department Of Surgery. Dr. Hendren is a general and colorectal surgeon, who is a graduate of Yale Medical School. She completed her surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania, and a clinical and research fellowship in Colorectal Surgery at the University of Toronto. She then was awarded a Masters degree in Public Health at the University of Rochester, where she was on faculty prior to moving to the University of Michigan in 2009. Dr. Hendren's research focuses on understanding and improving the quality of surgical care for cancer. She also performs research studies to better understand and reduce racial and socioeconomic disparities in American cancer care. Dr. Hendren is also interested in functional outcomes after cancer surgery, the quality of life of cancer survivors, and Veterans' healthcare. |
