Dr. Ali Mallat is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Acute Care Surgery, Section of General Surgery at the University of Michigan. Dr. Mallat received his medical degree from the Lebanese University in June 2000. He then completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he held the position of Chief Resident. He graduated in June 2007 with many awards in laparoscopy, Trauma and Teaching. Dr. Mallat went on to become a Surgical Critical Care Fellow at University of Michigan Hospital and joined the General Surgery faculty in 2008. Dr. Mallat is currently Certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery as well as in Surgical Critical Care. Dr. Mallat's clinical practice is focused in the areas of Surgical Critical Care, Emergencies in General Surgery and Laparoscopy. He has special research interest in Surgical ICU Outcomes, Specialty Models in ICU Care, Laparoscopy Applications in Trauma, as well as Ultrasonography in Critical Care. Dr. Mallat is currently the Director of the Combined Surgical Care Unit at the Ann Arbor VAMC and is pursuing a Master Degree in Clinical Research Design and Statistical Analysis at the University of Michigan. |
