UM.SiteMaker
Welcome to the home of UM.SiteMaker!
Campus Technology magazine recognizes UM.SiteMaker as the winner
of its 2006 Innovators award, in the area of "The Web".

UM.SiteMaker is a web-based program, originated at the University of Michigan, that lets non-technical people make highly customized websites and web-databases. A nice selection of real-life examples can be seen in the UM.SiteMaker Gallery

In addition, UM.SiteMaker is specifically designed to distribute administrative control and responsibility to people in Schools, Colleges, Departments, Centers, etc., in contrast to many other systems that are administered centrally. This empowers local staff, who are usually most closely attuned to their users' needs.

UM.SiteMaker is a slightly localized version of GVC.SiteMaker, which is available as an open-source distribution. Although this site is maintained principally for the benefit of the University of Michigan community, any users of GVC.SiteMaker will likely find it to be a valuable source of resources and information.
